UK/EU Scholarships
As a UK student starting your first full-time undergraduate degree programme at the University of Leeds, your financial support package may include Grants and Student Loans available from the Government - together with a wide range of scholarships and bursaries available from the University of Leeds.
15 Business School Home/EU Scholarships
What is it?
The award is £2,000 per year towards the cost of tuition fees or accommodation for 3 years.
Who qualifies?
All Home/EU applicants who apply for an undergraduate programme and are classed as Home/EU for fee purposes are considered.
How do I apply?
In order to be considered for this award you will need to have met the following conditions;
1. You have applied to Leeds University Business School through UCAS.
2. You complete the ‘Your Aspirations’ questionnaire after being made an offer (which will be found on our offer holders portal Destination).
3. You have chosen Leeds University Business School as your 'Firm' choice institution.
As well as meeting the conditions above, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following in your UCAS application:
• Meet (or exceed) all of the conditions of the offer made.
• Evidence of achievement explained in your personal statement (for example, prizes or awards received, where you were placed in your class, relevant work experience).
• Strong reference(s).
• That you bring diversity of background to the class.
We will also consider your potential to be a successful ambassador for Leeds University Business School.
When will I be told if I am successful?
If you are selected to receive a scholarship, you will be notified by the Admissions team by the 7th September.
Government Support Package
If you are from England and doing a full-time higher education degree programme in the UK, you may be able to get help with accommodation and other living costs through a government Maintenance Grant or Special Support Grant. Chartered Insurance Institute
The Chartered Insurance Institute offers qualifications for those working in the insurance and financial services and industry. Graduates from Business School programmes are eligible for credits into the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) frameworks for insurance and financial services. Business School International Scholarships
What is it?
The award is £2,500 per year towards the cost of fees.
Who qualifies?
All international self-funding applicants who apply for an undergraduate programme and are classed as international for fee purposes are considered. In addition, you must not be in receipt of any other scholarship.
NCUK and Leeds IFY students cannot apply for this scholarship. There are specific scholarships available for Leeds IFY students and NCUK students are eligible for the Leeds University Business School Approved Pathway Scholarships. Please continue reading for further information.
How do I apply?
All students who are offered a place will automatically be considered for a scholarship against set criteria. There is no additional scholarship application process.
In order to be considered for this award you will need to have met the following conditions;
- You have applied to Leeds University Business School through UCAS.
- You are a self-funded candidate, who would be paying fees at the full international student rate upon entry to Leeds University Business School in September 2012.
- You have chosen Leeds University Business School as your 'Firm' choice institution before the 30th June 2012.
As well as meeting the conditions above, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following in your UCAS application:
- Meet (or exceed) all of the conditions of the offer made.
- Evidence of achievement explained in your personal statement (for example, prizes or awards received, where you were placed in your class).
- Strong reference(s).
- That you bring diversity of background to the class.
We will also consider your potential to be a successful ambassador for Leeds University Business School.

Leeds University Business School Approved Pathway Scholarships
What is it?
The award is £2,500 per year towards the cost of fees.
Seven scholarships are available to applicants studying on the NCUK IFY programme.
Three scholarships are available to applicants studying on the NCUK International Diploma (Int Dip programme).
Who qualifies?
For entry in September 2012, scholarships of £2,500 a year for three years are available for students on a range of approved pathways to Leeds. All students who apply to the Business School will be considered for a scholarship. However, the scholarships will be awarded to the highest achieving* students from the NCUK IFY and Int Dip programmes who achieve and exceed the minimum requirements.
In addition, you must not be in receipt of any other scholarship.
How do I apply?
All students who are offered a place will automatically be considered for a scholarship against set criteria. There is no additional scholarship application process.
In order to be considered for this award you will need to have met the following conditions;
- You have applied to Leeds University Business School through UCAS.
- Evidence of achievement explained in your personal statement (for example prizes or awards, where you are placed in your class).
- That you bring diversity of background to the class.
- You are a self funded candidate, who should be paying fees at the international student rate upon entry to Leeds University Business School in September 2012.
- You have chosen Leeds University Business School as your 'Firm' choice institution before the 30th June 2012.
- The minimum requirements to be considered for the award are AAA in the subjects specified in the formal offer letter, a Distinction overall and no lower than a B in all your other subject areas.
We will also consider your potential to be a successful ambassador for Leeds University Business School.
*Should the number of students eligible for the scholarship exceed the number of scholarships available, the Business School reserves the right to reassess the criteria and offer the scholarship to the top performing students that hold the strongest academic grades, the highest English Language scores and the best personal statement that they have submitted.
The Leeds IFY Scholarship
What is it?
The award is £2,500 per year towards the cost of fees.
Who qualifies?
All Leeds IFY self-funding applicants who apply for an undergraduate programme and are classed as international for fee purposes are considered. In addition, you must not be in receipt of any other scholarship.
How do I apply?
All students who are offered a place will automatically be considered for a scholarship against set criteria. There is no additional scholarship application process.
In order to qualify for this award you will need to have met the following conditions;
1. You have applied to Leeds University Business School directly from the IFY.
2. You are a self-funded candidate, who would be paying fees at the full international student rate upon entry to Leeds University Business School in September 2012.
3. You have chosen Leeds University Business School as your 'Firm' choice institution before the 30th June 2012.
4. You must achieve an overall average of at least 75% on the Leeds IFY with no single module below a grade B.
International Schools Excellence Award
What is it?
A scholarship of £2,500 towards the cost of fees will be awarded to a student at each of the 4 colleges listed in the ‘Who qualifies?’ section below. These scholarships are for each year of study and are awarded on the basis of academic merit for students registering on a Leeds University Business School undergraduate programme in September 2012.
Who qualifies?
Students from the following international school are eligible to apply;
- Bellerbys College (London, Oxford, Hove, Cambridge - two scholarships available)
- Stratford Upon Avon College (two scholarships available)
- Notre Dame 6th Form College Leeds (one scholarship available)
- Nottingham College International (one scholarship available)
Students from other International Schools will automatically be considered for the Business School's International Scholarship Award.
How do I apply?
All students who are offered a place will automatically be considered for a scholarship against set criteria. There is no additional scholarship application process.
In order to be considered for this award you will need to have met the following conditions:
- You have applied to Leeds University Business School through UCAS.
- You are a self-funded candidate, who would be paying fees at the full international student rate upon entry to Leeds University Business School in September 2012.
- You have chosen Leeds University Business School as your 'Firm' choice institution by the 30th June 2012.
Applicants should be advised that;
- Applicants will need to meet (or exceed) all of the conditions of the offer made.
- A decision will be made on the application by a panel of university staff.
- Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.
- A member of staff from the university will contact the student before the 7th September 2012 to confirm if you have been successful in achieving the award.
- The successful candidate will also receive a letter confirming details of the scholarship.
