Case study: Marketing consultancy project with National Grid
Chelsea Moen, MA Corporate Communications and Public Relations 2013

Our third semester consultancy projects give students the opportunity to work with a live business situation, make links with industry and gain work experience that can be exceptionally rewarding.

Chelsea Moen graduated in 2013 after completing her summer consultancy project with National Grid in the UK. Her project focused on Best Practice in Managing and Measuring Corporate Reputation.

Chelsea explains, "Working with National Grid was a really enjoyable experience - a wonderful opportunity to gain insight and exposure to the potential careers I’m interested in. And it looks great on my CV. 

I’m honoured I was chosen for this project - it was a lot of work, I’ve really enjoyed the process and gained some great real-life experience within a Corporate Affairs environment. I received great exposure too, as I was fortunate enough to interview various senior executives and directors of global companies.

While I did really well and got a distinction, the experience and exposure was far more valuable than any grade I received. The project would not have been nearly as successful without the incredible support I received from National Grid. I truly valued the partnership."
