Why did you choose Leeds University Business School?

I came to Leeds for my MBA - a dream that I had been chasing for four years. Previously I have worked in over 7 countries and have had the opportunity to learn a lot from various cultures. I was always inspired by entrepreneurs and soon learnt that I also needed to learn the skills required to start an entrepreneurial venture.

Leeds University Business School was a choice that I was keen on, especially due to the vast alumni network and the experience of the faculty.

Tell us about your course – why did you choose it? What elements of the course inspired you to choose the Business School/University?

Going back to school after 8 years of work was a thrill in itself. A gripping year with students from over 12 countries and varying experiences is something that I will cherish for life. The University also gave the opportunity to interact with students from other universities through study tours and networking events, which was not just enjoyable but also beneficial in developing a mature mindset towards business. Core management and entrepreneurship modules were greatly beneficial during the course too.

What were your career aspirations when you arrived?

As I began my journey through the MBA, I always hoped to get into the realm of entrepreneurship and start my business. Through the Business School, I was able to get the right guidance, networks and be mentored in that direction. Ranging from the staff and to the careers services, everyone is here to help. Such support allowed me to be focused and stay on track.

How has your career progressed since leaving the Business School? Have there been any notable highlights?

On completing my MBA, I was immediately able to setup my business in the UK and also be incubated by the University. I have been provided with the right mentors and was quickly able to raise initial investments to set my dreams in motion. The University further went on to endorse my business plan and enabled me to secure a visa to continue to do business in the UK.

What is your current role and with which employer? What is your job remit?

I am the Co-Founder of 6Degree Networks Limited and currently work between UK and India.

What are your ambitions for the future?

6Degree is a niche platform in the domain of fashion and creative industry. My next milestone is to grow 6Degree in the rapidly evolving fashion ecosystem and expand this throughout the UK and further across the globe.

What was your impression/experience of the facilities, the staff, your peers, the student union, the City of Leeds and the region itself?

Leeds is a place where I can proudly say that "dreams do come true!" The staff and my peers have been extremely friendly and one can familiarise into this culture in no time. The MBA is a one year course, so as a student there is so much to choose from and consequently so many opportunities to grow - a must have experience for any student who dares to dream.

What would you say is your defining memory of studying here?

I have fond memories of the Business School and each time I pass by the school, it brings me a smile. Attending lectures, working on group projects, the fun and parties with friends and the bonds made will stay with me for life.
