Currently, I am Marie Curie Fellow at the Centre for International Business, Leeds University Business School. My research focus is on international entrepreneurship and economic policies. In 2014, I was appointed as Policy Officer in DG Industry and Enterprise (temporarily I am on a special leave to focus on the academic research). I worked on files regarding Horizon2020 and Raw Material Diplomacy.
Before starting my career at EU government, I was Assistant Professor at the University of Groningen (the Netherlands). I earned my PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Padova with focus on International Entrepreneurship. During my academic career I worked as visiting scholar at King’s College London (UK), at Darden School of Business (University of Virginia, USA), and more recently at the University of Uppsala (Sweden), University of Pavia (Italy) and Turku School of Economics (Finland).
Before undertaking the academic career, I have accumulated a substantial international relations experience as a consultant to several governmental institutions and companies regarding internationalization and globalization processes. I have also worked on a number of EU funded transnational projects.
