Experience

Lucy has worked at the University of Leeds since January 2009 as a Research Assistant in Organizational Psychology. She graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2006 with a 2:1 degree in Psychology. She then went on to achieve a Merit for a Masters in Occupational Psychology in 2008 from the Institute of Work, Health and Organizations at Nottingham University. During her time at Nottingham University, Lucy also gained her British Psychological Society Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing at both Level A and Level B (Intermediate). In addition to this, Lucy also obtained a Certificate of Competence in Risk Assessment for Work–Related Stress. Lucy is currently a Practitioner-In-Training of the British Psychological Society Division of Occupational Psychology and is hoping to achieve Chartered status in the near future.

Lucy has undertaken a range of temporary roles during University holidays and gap years, gaining much experience working in various organizational surroundings, particularly within HR and recruitment environments.

Lucy’s research interests include organizational change, culture change, job crafting, and organizational citizenship behaviour for which was the focus of her Masters applied research project, looking at the extent to which age and tenure can predict this behavior in the workforce. This research was conducted within a large UK debt management company using quantitative methods and analysis. Another of Lucy’s research interests is supply chain innovation for which she has completed a project focusing on understanding and promoting collaborative innovation across packaging supply chains. Lucy’s most recent work is currently exploring change in the area of Cost Engineering within Rolls-Royce from a people, roles and organization perspective.

Lucy has worked with many leading organizations including Rolls-Royce, Faraday Packaging Partnership, Premier Foods, Coca-Cola, Sun Chemical Ltd, ColepCCL, Chesapeake, Heinz and Boots.

Lucy is also a Programme Admissions Tutor for the MSc Organizational Psychology course within the Business School. She is responsible on behalf of the programme for assessing potential students for entry onto the course each year.
